Gospel Study Schedule (Oct 2020 – April 2021)
Life is busy and I have been a slowpoke about getting my new gospel study schedule planned out for the next six months (well, five months now) between General Conferences. It’s a bit of a time-consuming project, after all, to review all the General Conference talks from October and all the Come, Follow Me scripture study lessons slated for the next six months in order to try to pair them up. But I have finished at last!
In the meantime, as I have been studying the Book of Mormon, I have just been picking one or two talks on a weekly basis that seem to correspond somehow with what I am pondering, feeling, or learning.
So I have already reviewed a handful of talks, but I figured I’d share my study schedule anyway, in the event that anyone else finds it useful moving forward. Of course, there’s no one way to study the gospel. To the contrary, I’m sure it looks different for every single person. The important thing, to my mind, is really just putting consistent time and effort into strengthening oneself spiritually.
As it happens, this is what is working for me currently. I like pacing myself through the current content and I also love having a schedule made in advance so I don’t have to rethink it every week. While some talks seem like obvious pairings with certain scripture passages, other times I enjoy the surprise of looking for and making unexpected connections between the texts.
Regardless, I find I feel happier and healthier for spending time studying the words of church leaders and prophets, ancient and modern, and looking for application in my own life in an effort to come to know God better. Just putting this out there in case it will help someone else do the same.
Yours for spiritual wellness,
Mikelle
